Fiz Eustance is an artist, musician and production assistant based across Dhudhuroa, Waywurru and Jaithmathang land in Mt Beauty, Victoria and Woi Wurrung country in Melbourne. They are passionate about helping young people to express themselves through creativity and championing meaningful learning experiences through workshop facilitation, public program production, community engagement and quality assurance.

Fiz’s creative practice is governed by play and a reciprocal relationship with site. They are interested in exploring cycles of creation/destruction and audience agency through participatory installations.

At the heart of their making process is the question: how can we create ethically? As a sculptor/installation artist, this leads to interrogating how we source materials and conversely, what the waste products of our creating are. Their practice is site specific, influenced by the history and materials of wherever they are working.

In 2023, they participated in a month-long residency in Mparntwe at Watch This Space gallery with collaborator Tamar Chaya. This residency culminated in the show Sediment falling, evaporating, rising, buckling, settling. In 2022, Fiz had a residency at Siteworks for the Making Space program and exhibited their participatory sculptures at Melbourne Fashion Week and Testing Grounds’ Public Art Park.
